Video work
I have had the brilliant opportunity to work for a particular video production company in the past that inspired me. This was such an interesting job and I learnt so much from this after finishing my University degree in Animation, that over the years I have created some fun videos to hone my skills. Recently I have began working with some local business to produce promotional material for their social media channels which I would like to share.
Footage from the early days
These videos were shot with a semi professional broadcast Sony camcorder on miniDV tapes. Oh the fun I had filming 30 minutes of footage and having to capture to the computer in real time play back. The purpose of the videos was to create a montage of the days activities to be shown back at the end of the day on the big screen after a conference and meal were enjoyed by the participants. Filming, editing and play back were achieved in 7-8 hours using a portable'ish editing suite.
My holidays - Snowboarding
So anyone who knows me well enough will know my second love is snowboarding, even training to teach it to others. When I go out on holiday mostly once a year, I record myself create a montage of the week. I use a goPro mostly with the occasional video from my phone and a selfie stick. I am not afraid to make a fool of myself and you will see this in the videos. Editing took place in my chalet on holiday so I could download footage and free up the storage on my goPro for the following day.
Current projects
As mentioned above, I have been working with few local businesses to promote their services and products, below is a rough cut of a jewellery maker who has a stall in the local market where I live. I wanted to concentrate on the products and add a little personality in to it while keeping it looking professional too. I used a Nikon D90 with a number of different size lens and my trusty Google Pixel 3A phone for macro and multiple angles. I have filmed the stall and in the workshop to give the viewer a private and personalised view of the jewellery maker in action.
